Performance Anxiety /Exam Nerves

Performance anxiety also known as stage fright or exam nerves, is a type of social anxiety characterised by intense fear or apprehension.

It can manifest in various situations, such as public speaking, presentations, performing arts, exams, or job interviews.  Various physical symptoms may include trembling, sweating, rapid heartbeat, nausea, and difficulty concentrating.  These symptoms and feelings can significantly impact performance and may lead to avoidance of certain situations or activities.

So why use Tapping….

Eft can help by calming the nervous system and reducing the intensity of anxious feelings.  By tapping on specific points while focusing on the anxiety or fear associated with performing or taking an exam, it can help to release the emotional charge and promote relaxation .

By actively participating in the tapping process, individuals feel a sense of control over their emotions and reactions, empowering them to manage their anxiety more effectively.

EFT involves verbalising statements that acknowledge current negative beliefs or fears and then gradually shifting them to more positive and affirming ones.  This process helps individuals reframe their thoughts and beliefs about their ability to perform well.

It can also be used as a tool for mental and emotional preparation before the performance or exam, helping individuals enter the situation with a calmer and more focused mindset.
